Tosca Fantasy

25/05/2025

Here is a new fantasy based on Giacomo Puccini's famous opera "Tosca". And what instrument can better serve this music than the clarinet!

Jean-Christophe Maltot draws on all its rich colors, tessituras and virtuosity to embody Floria Tosca, Baron Scarpia, and of course, Mario Cavaradossi whose solo in the famous aria "Lucevan le stelle". This theme is initially evoked in small touches throughout the piece, like a common thread that maintains the dramatic tension, before fully revealing itself in the opera's final act.

Congratulations to Jean-Christophe for this piece, which adds a new dimension to the repertoire of operatic aria fantasies for clarinet and piano.

Grazie mille e Lunga vita a questa fantasia su Tosca!
